Catherine Byrne
Clontarf Therapy
Catherine holds a BA in Psychoanalytic psychotherapy and a clinical Master's in Psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She is currently pursuing a two-year postmaster's degree at the School of Psychotherapy at St Vincent University Hospital Dublin 4.
Catherine is currently working in liaison psychiatry at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, where she offers emotional support for cancer patients under the guidance of Professor Anne Doherty.
She believes it is important that each client is allowed to speak in a safe environment where there is no judgment. Psychotherapy is very beneficial for those who are looking to examine their deep mental and emotional issues, helping clients to explore their psychological history which can facilitate the client in learning how to manage their symptoms e.g. depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Psychotherapy can be instrumental in learning how to cope with major life events like grief, loss, or relationship changes which can be difficult to navigate alone. Catherine can provide support and has over 25 years of experience.
Catherine also offers Psychoanalysis, which is a form of psychotherapy. Psychoanalysis focuses on exploring the unconscious mind. Through this in-depth process, the client can gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Engaging in a psychoanalytic analysis allows that individual to break free from a deeply rooted pattern of behaviour resulting in achieving a lasting transformation for the client.
